Frequently asked questions
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship concerns, identity questions, grief, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck in patterns you'd like to understand better.
You don't need to be in crisis to seek therapy. Sometimes people come because something feels difficult. Sometimes they come because they want a space to reflect, grow, and understand themselves more deeply.
That's completely okay.
Beginning therapy can bring up a lot of questions: Will this help? Am I ready? Do my concerns even "count"? What if I don't know what to say?
You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Many people begin therapy while feeling uncertain. A free 20-minute discovery call can be a gentle first step if you'd like to learn more before deciding.
People come to us with a wide range of experiences and concerns, including anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, identity exploration, grief, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, loneliness, and a desire for deeper self-understanding.
You don't need to fit a particular category to seek support.
At Daayra Nest, we think about therapy not only as a relationship between one therapist and one client, but as part of a wider network of care.
While your therapist remains your primary point of contact, our team works collaboratively behind the scenes. Therapists consult with one another, seek support when needed, and draw on the collective wisdom of the practice while protecting your confidentiality.
For clients, this can mean more support, more accountability, and more opportunities for repair when things feel difficult.
We also believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative rather than prescriptive. Instead of positioning ourselves as experts on your life, we aim to create a space where your experiences, identities, relationships, and contexts are taken seriously.
Queer-affirmative and trans-affirmative practice is not an add-on to our work. It is foundational to how we understand care, relationships, identity, and wellbeing.
Our team brings together both professional training and lived experience. We recognise that queer and trans people often navigate systems that misunderstand, pathologise, or invisibilise their experiences. We strive to create spaces where your identity does not need to be explained, defended, or justified.
At the same time, we know that being queer or trans is not always the reason someone seeks therapy. You are welcome to bring questions of identity into the room, and you are equally welcome to talk about relationships, grief, work, family, anxiety, or anything else that feels important to you.
We currently offer therapy for young adults, women, couples, and queer-trans individuals.
Yes. We offer a free 20-minute discovery call with the therapist you'd like to work with. If they're unavailable, our lead therapist will connect with you instead.
The discovery call isn't a therapy session. It's a space to get a sense of whether working together feels right.
We'll usually ask a little about what brings you to therapy, whether you've had previous experiences with therapy, and what you're hoping for from support right now. We'll also share how we might be able to help and answer any questions you have about the process.
Our hope is that you leave with enough information to make an informed decision about whether you'd like to move forward.
Absolutely.
Some people prefer having a conversation before booking, while others know they're ready to begin. If you'd like to book directly, you can let us know through the intake form or reach out via email or WhatsApp.
Choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you're beginning therapy for the first time.
There is no perfect formula, but things like therapeutic approach, areas of focus, lived experience, personality, availability, and fees can all matter.
If you're unsure, we're happy to help. During a discovery call, we can talk through what you're looking for and help you identify a therapist who may be a good fit.
Many people come into their first session worried that they'll have to tell their entire life story in one sitting. That's not how we approach things.
The first session is primarily about getting to know you and understanding what has brought you here. We'll spend some time exploring the concerns that feel most important right now, what you're hoping for from therapy, and what support might look like moving forward.
While understanding your history can be important, we don't believe in rushing into detailed retellings of painful experiences. We want therapy to feel safe enough for difficult conversations to emerge at a pace that feels safe for you.
There is no right way to show up. You don't need to prepare, have the perfect words, or know exactly where to begin.
That's okay too.
Many people come to therapy with a feeling rather than a clear explanation. You don't need to arrive with a well-organised story. Part of the work of therapy can be finding language for experiences that have felt confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to put into words.
Finding the right fit can take time.
If something doesn't feel right, we encourage you to talk about it with your therapist. Sometimes these conversations can become meaningful parts of the therapeutic process itself.
If needed, we can definitely explore whether another therapist within the practice might be a better fit.
There isn't a fixed timeline.
Some people come for support around a specific concern, while others engage in longer-term work. Together, you'll continue checking in on what feels helpful and what you're hoping to get from therapy.
We currently offer online therapy sessions.
In-person sessions are currently on pause as we work towards expanding our services. We'll share updates through our website and social media when in-person therapy becomes available again.
Current fees are:
• Aanya: ₹2100 per session
• Lubna: ₹800 per session
If you're unsure which therapist may be the best fit for your needs and budget, we're happy to discuss options during a discovery call.
Our therapists have different fee structures based on factors such as experience, training, supervision, and areas of specialization.
Having therapists at different fee points is also one of the ways we try to make therapy more accessible. We recognise that financial circumstances vary, and we want people to have meaningful options when seeking support.
Limited sliding-scale spots may be available based on need and therapist availability.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we ask that you do so at least 24 hours in advance.
A full session fee will be charged in cases of late cancellations, late reschedules, and no-shows.
For morning and early afternoon sessions, cancellations must be made by 8:00 PM the previous evening.
For late afternoon and evening sessions, cancellations must be made at least 6 hours before the session.
A no-show includes not joining the session within the first 15 minutes of the scheduled start time.
Confidentiality is an important part of therapy.
There are some legal and ethical limits to confidentiality, such as situations involving serious risk of harm to yourself or others. Your therapist will discuss these limits with you at the beginning of your work together.
You can book a discovery call, complete our intake form, or reach out through email or WhatsApp.
We'll help you find a path forward that feels right for you.
