All humans are stories and we together step into yours with an eclectic approach. Now what do I mean by eclectic? Imagine you go to an eye doctor to get an eye check up done, the doctor keeps changing your lens till you find the perfect one which makes you see all the letters clearly the big ones and the small ones.
Eclectic approach does the same! We shift the lens which suits and makes you see the experience clearly and lets you feel and process the emotion behind it. Stories have layers. So does humans and so should the process that we use to understand those layers.
These are some things I adopt in Therapy -
Socio-economic lens - Not all emotional stress or triggers comes from within or relationships. Sometimes its the social systems (patriarchy, casteism, economic stressors) around us that effect an individual deeply.
Queer affirmative lens - Identity is not an illness, stigma or a public decision. Its an individual's right. I build a space that is inclusive, validating and self reflective for the individual.
Psychodynamic - The mind starts registering the moment it gains consciousness and is a chain of events ever since, hence we together explore from the childhood to present to understand it all.
Person Centered Therapy - We navigate at your pace. A non judgmental, unbiased space for you to open up. For there is no greater healing than in the experience of just being seen and understood by another human.
These are the layers of eclectic approach used by me. I dive into these through Socratic questioning, which is a disciplined, open-ended method of dialogue used to stimulate critical thinking, uncover assumptions, and guide individuals to their own conclusions rather than providing direct answers. A method used both in philosophy and psychology.
The goal is to build a safe space that allows you to explore your relationship with yourself (Emotions, thoughts and body) and move towards healing that comes from within you and feels organic.
